With a keen eye and sharp wit, a narcissist is ever-vigilant in their assessment of those they encounter.

They meticulously scrutinize for any indication of vulnerability, acquiescence, adaptability, and above all, any trace of self-doubt laid bare for all to see.

One who embodies shame, whether in a wholesome and virtuous manner or in a noxious and deleterious form, exudes a malleability and receptiveness to external stimuli. They readily yield to the influence of others and readily relinquish control, without reluctance or reservation.

The meeting of two narcissists ignites a combustible reaction that sets the scene ablaze with tension and hostility. Neither party exudes the admirable traits outlined above, leading to a conspicuous absence of camaraderie.

One can easily discern the presence of two narcissists in a social gathering by the way they position themselves on opposite ends of the table, glaring at each other with steely gazes or engaging in a war of words to secure dominance and attract supporters.
